From the NWS Blacksburg facebook page “In the wake of a passing cold front this morning…very strong northwest winds are expected to develop later this morning and persist into early this evening. The strongest winds are expected across the higher elevations along the southern Blue Ridge although gusts to 50 or 55 mph will be possible west of the Blue Ridge in Virginia as well as along the foothills. The image shows the current high wind warning and wind advisory that are in effect across the region through midnight.”
