UPDATE – Severe Thunderstorm Warning Until 3pm – Tuesday August 13, 2019

Bands of strong to scattered severe thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Damaging winds will be the primary threat with large hail also possible.
As seen in the graphics below, NWS says that the enhanced threat of severe thunderstorms will include much of North Carolina.
Brad Panovich, Chief Meteorologist at NBC Charlotte, says that some strong to severe storms are possible with the weak cold front colliding with the high heat and humidify (increase level of moisture in air) tomorrow . He adds that the highest risk will be in the mountains.
