Crews will close one lane near Dobbins Road after 6 p.m. Monday
BANNER ELK – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will begin placing precast culvert sections on N.C. 184 overnight Monday.
Beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, crews from Blythe Construction will close one lane of N.C. 184 near Dobbins Road to begin installing sections of the new culvert that will carry Hanging Rock Creek under N.C. 184. Hurricane Helene damaged the original structure.
Crews anticipate finishing the operation by early Tuesday morning. All construction is expected to finish later this year.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time, remain alert and drive with caution.
