Storm Power Outage Information – Monday April 13, 2020

High winds and continues stormy conditions Sunday night and through the overnight lead to a number of power outages.

As of Monday afternoon crews with Blue Ridge Energy in Ashe and Caldwell are having to wait on the flood waters to go down to gain access to the power lines, according to Renee Whitener with Blue Ridge Energy.

Below are outages data as of 2:30 pm Monday.

Caldwell:
1. Number of Damaged locations: 17
2. Total number of members affected: 1206
3. Time outages began: 1:04 am
4. Time outages ended: Ongoing – Number of members still off: 41
5. Longest duration: 4 hrs. 6min
6. Causes: Wind – Trees, Flooding
7. Areas affected: Patterson, Lenoir, Elk Creek, Kings Creek, John’s River, and Dudley Shoals areas.

Watauga:
1. Number of Damaged locations: 10
2. Total number of members affected: 1565
3. Time outages began: 1:17 am
4. Time outages ended: Ongoing – Number of members still off: 53
5. Longest duration: 10hrs 1min
6. Causes: Wind – Trees
7. Areas affected: Hound Ears, Deep Gap, and Aho areas.

Ashe:
1. Number of Damaged locations : 21
2. Total number of members affected: 429
3. Time outages began: 1:45 am
4. Time outages ended: Ongoing – Number of members still off: 11
5. Longest duration: 9hrs 11 min
6. Causes: Wind – Trees, Flooding
