…A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of west central
Caldwell, southern Avery and northwestern Burke Counties through 245
PM EDT…
At 202 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles southeast of Newland, or 4 miles south of B.R. Parkway-Linville
Falls To Grandfather, moving southwest at 5 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Crossnore, Linville Falls, B.R. Parkway-Linville Falls To
Grandfather, Table Rock, Edgemont, Ingalls, Altamont, Pineola, Jonas
Ridge and Linville.
MAX HAIL SIZE…0.50 IN
MAX WIND GUST…50 MPH
