…A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern
McDowell, southwestern Caldwell, southeastern Avery and northwestern
Burke Counties through 645 PM EDT…
At 604 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles south of Newland, or 5 miles southeast of Linville Falls,
moving southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Lenoir, Gamewell, Table Rock, Linville Falls, Glen Alpine, Lake
James, Lake James State Park, B.R. Parkway-Linville Falls To
Grandfather, Collettsville and Ashford.
