*updated 10:50am – Seeing several facebook and twitter post that US 321, 221, 421, and Blue Ridge Parkway will be affected by the motorcade. We have not confirmed these with any local officials but merely passing it along as “possible” roads that might be affected so you can plan accordingly to minimize traffic delays.

9:32am – There are a lot of questions about President Obama's motorcade in the county today.
As we reported last night sources are confirming that it is scheduled to happen. The time frame appears to be anywhere from 1:30pm to this evening but nothing is set in stone. No public events are scheduled or have been confirmed.
Road closures will occur but not known are the times yet. You can text in road closure reports to 828-581-WCRC (9272). Plan accordingly as roads and traffic will be affected by the motorcade this afternoon.
There are facebook reports that the motorcade will come up hwy321 from Lenoir and that Lenoir firemen will help block roads on that route. More information posted as we get it.
