Mountain Electric (MEC) has announced a planned outage on Monday, November 18th.
The company said in a statement, “During Helene recovery, MEC temporarily repaired a structure on the transmission line in the Banner Elk community. This was done to restore power as quickly as possible. We must now make a more permanent repair to prepare for the winter months ahead. This repair will require an outage on the Cranberry to Banner Elk transmission line.
The outage will affect the Cranberry community, Minneapolis, Elk River, Elk Park, Banner Elk, and the Sugar Mountain Community. The outage is planned for Monday November 18th at 11:30-11:45 pm and should conclude in approx. 3 hours. We would like to thank you for your patience.”
