Number Of Power Outages On Tuesday Night & Wednesday Due To High Winds

High winds led to a number of power outages in the High Country on Tuesday night and Wednesday. 

371 Blue Ridge Energy members in Watauga County were affected by a total of 22 outages countywide. The first reported outages began at 10:55 pm on Tuesday night and the final outages were restored at 5:27 pm Wednesday.

204 Blue Ridge Energy members in Ashe County were affected by a total of 19 outages in the Smethport, Shatley Springs and Beaver Creek areas. The first reported outages began at 11:56 pm on Tuesday night and the final outages were restored at 11:09 am Wednesday. 

No outages were reported in Alleghany County.

1 outage in Caldwell County affected 7 Blue Ridge Energy members. That outage occurred on Highway 321 North near the Watauga County line on Wednesday beginning at 2:41 pm and ending at 4:32 pm.
