On March 27, 2024, Detectives with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling the area of Roaring Creek Road and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle with no registration plate. The motorcycle failed to stop and after a short pursuit, the driver Willey Webb was apprehended. A search after the arrest turned up methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Detective Casey Lee charged, 51 year old Willey Webb, with Felony Flee to Elude Arrest, Possession With Intent to Sale Methamphetamine, and Possession With Intent to Sale a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Webb is being held in the Avery County Detention Center on a $75,000 Secured Bond.
