Did we jump from Winter straight to Summer? It sure felt like it this weekend as temperatures crossed over the 80 degree mark and in turn broke records.
The Watauga Medical Center reporting station (KTNB) recorded highs of 80.6 on Saturday and 83.3 on Sunday. Though that reporting station is not the “official” station for historical temperature records, it is quite clear that records were broken.
Topping out at 80.6 degrees in Boone on Saturday, it was unofficially the hottest Saturday before Mother's Day since 2004 (81 degrees).
Sunday's high of 83.3 was the hottest May 13th since at least 2002, though Monday May 13, 2013 hit 82.4
