7am –  County main roads are scraped and passable while back roads are still in bad shape, according to Watauga Communications dispatch office.

According to social media reports there appear to be no major travel issues this morning, but conditions will change as more snow is on the way.

1:30pm – This afternoon into tonight could prove to be a tale of any two locations. For example it's 41 degrees and glimpses of the sun in a section of Valle Crucis, but much different story on the eastern end of the county where temps are still in the 20s. Expect more snow with sleet/freezing rain moving in across the county this afternoon. Location is gonna mean a lot regarding what you might get and how much of it you get as the temperature divide continues for a while. Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until Tuesday at noon.
