Loggains Announces 2025 App State Coaching Staff

BOONE, N.C. — First-year App State Football head coach Dowell Loggains has completed his inaugural coaching staff for the 2025 season.

Titles and position group responsibility for the staff are as follows:

Dowell Loggains – Head Coach

Clyde Christensen – Associate Head Coach

DJ Smith – Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers

Jeff Crosby – Special Teams Coordinator

Curtis Fuller – Defensive Pass Game Coordinator / Defensive Backs

Aashon Larkins – Offensive Recruiting Coordinator / Running Backs

Anthony Shakir – Defensive Recruiting Coordinator / Edges

Joe Dailey – Wide Receivers

Keith Jones Jr. – Defensive Line

Allen Mogridge – Offensive Line

Riley Watkins – Quarterbacks

Ryan Yurachek – Tight Ends

Matt Greenhalgh – Director of Athletic Performance for Football

Collectively, Loggains and the 12 staff members listed above hold 142 years of college coaching experience and 60 years of NFL coaching experience.

Loggains was hired on Dec. 7, 2024 as the 23rd head coach in program history after directing the offense for a top-20-ranked South Carolina team that featured the national freshman offensive player of the year in quarterback LaNorris Sellers.

App State has welcomed 32 high school, junior college and transfer portal signees since December as it prepares for the 2025 season.
