Local Man Charged: Assault With A Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury For Early July Incident

On July 7, 2017, Officers from the Watauga County Sheriff's Office responded to 186 Norman Road Extension, Boone, North Carolina in reference to a 911 call regarding two individuals being injured. Upon arriving at 186 Norman Road Extension first responding officers discovered two individuals, Ronald Keith Isaacs and Anthony Scott Barrier with various physical injuries. Both of the individuals were transported to Watauga Medical Center for initial medical treatment and later transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for further medical treatment.

Watauga County Sheriff's Office immediately began investigating this incident. Numerous interviews have been conducted with the two individuals injured, witnesses and neighbors and various medical documents have been obtained describing the injuries sustained in this incident. As a result of the interviews and information gathered and in consultation with the District Attorney's Office the following individual was charged:

Anthony Scott Barrier, W/M, age 45 a resident of 225 Norman Road Extension was charged with one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. Anthony Scott Barrier was arrested on August 9, 2017 and taken before a Watauga County Magistrate where he was given a $50,000.00 secured bond and a court date of September 8, 2017.
