Local agencies control small brush fire in Zionville today

Crews from several agencies were dispatched to a brush fire in Zionville late this morning.

The cause of the fire, in the 100 block of Eggers Hollow, was from burning a debris pile, according to Watauga County Forest Ranger Andrew Harsey.

It was .25 acres. There were no injuries and no damages, Harsey added.

Zionville Fire, Cove Creek Fire, Forest Service, and the Watauga County Fire Marshal's Office all responded to the scene.
