Below is a list of events happening in the High Country for the weekend and Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Take note that this list will be updated as needed.

Friday, June 30

Trinity Baptist Church in Deep Gap, 7186 old NC Hwy 421 S, Event starts at 6:30 with food games and fireworks by Perennial Pyrotechnics.


Saturday, July 1 – Town of Blowing Rock Festival. This year’s parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 1st at 10 AM. The parade line up will begin at 8:30 AM. All participants must be lined up by no later than 9:30 AM. 

Schedule as follows:

9:00am- Surefire Bluegrass Band

10:00am- Parade

11:00am- The Cockman Family

12:30pm- Horseshoe Tournament (18+) Prizes Awarded

and Soulution Band: Park Dance

1:00pm- Park Games

Saturday, July 1 – Town of Beech Mountain Tail Gate Family Day @ Buckeye Recreation Center starting at 10:00 a.m. with a Sparkler Fun Run 5K. Call 828-387-3003 for more details

Tuesday, July 4 – Town of Boone

July 4th parade will step off at 11:00 a.m., from the County Social Services parking lot, heading east down King St., continuing to the light at Earth Fare.

Following the parade, cake and watermelon will be served at the Jones House, and the inaugural Town of Boone 1872 Award will be presented to Renee Boughman.

In the evening, the community is welcome to gather at Clawson-Burnley Park to enjoy the space before the annual Fourth of July Fireworks display, which will start around 9:15 p.m.

Tuesday, July 4 – Banner Elk parade begins at 11 a.m. followed by the party in the park and duck races.
