11:25am – getting first report of some slick spots on Meat Camp Road and highway 88 in Ashe

Noon – No reported problems with the main roads in Watauga
Winds have picked up now, gust of 29mph and 41 degrees in Boone at 3:15pm. Rain and foggy. No reported road issues.
4:43pm – first report of snow coming in from Rich Mtn
4:46pm report of snow in Poplar Grove area
Wind chills are forecast as low as 15 below late tonight, and as low as 22 below in the morning per NWS. Falling and blowing snow will impact roads and travel.
6:25pm – Possible delays on Bamboo Rd near Wilson Ridge Rd due to wreck
Wind gust of 52mph already in Boone at 7:55pm
Falling snow, blowing snow and wind chills well below zero will make for hazardous travel overnight and early Friday. Caution advised.
