The possibility for severe weather exist for our area again on Friday and into Saturday. Below is information about the possibilities as of Friday morning. Updates to the information will be added/updated as it becomes available from our trusted weather sources.

New event. Areal Flood Watch from 3/2/2012 12:00 PM to 3/3/2012 4:00 AM EST for Johnson County TN

Things are picking up already in parts of TN and Alabama. Tornado Watches and Warnings are already being issued. If you are traveling into Central or East TN today make sure you are weather aware.

NWS forecast as of Friday morning 9:30am:
Today…Cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Rain showers likely…mainly this afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Tonight…Thunderstorms likely. Showers. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall. Lows in the upper 40s. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Saturday…Mostly cloudy with showers likely in the morning… Then partly sunny with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Breezy with highs around 50. West winds 15 to 25 mph. Gusts up to 45 mph in the morning. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Saturday Night…Partly cloudy. Much cooler with lows in the upper 20s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Sunday…Partly sunny in the morning…then mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain and snow showers in the afternoon. Breezy and cooler with highs in the upper 30s. West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.
