Residents in Valle Crucis along highway 194 north along with the Dutch Creek and Pigeon Roost areas were impacted by a surprise power outage on Tuesday evening.
A live tree fell on lines knocking out power for up to 2 hours and 39 minutes. The outage affected 296 Blue Ridge Energy members and began at 5:55pm. The last outage was restored at 9:27pm.
