Crime Stoppers seeks help with a fraudulent purchase at Lowe’s

High Country Crime Stoppers and Boone Police Department seek the public’s assistance in solving the following incidents:

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, a fraudulent purchase was made at Lowe’s Home Improvement, located at 1855 Blowing Rock Road in Boone. The suspect purchased $304.05 of merchandise on a business account associated with a local construction company. Among the items purchased were 3 packages of Gator sandpaper, a red Craftsman hand/nail brush, a blue Estwing steel pry bar, a 20V Craftsman lithium battery, and a black and yellow DeWalt tool belt with shoulder straps. An image of the suspect is attached.

High Country Crime Stoppers is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization operated by a volunteer community board of directors serving Avery and Watauga Counties. High Country Crime Stoppers encourages the reporting of information or leads which can assist law enforcement with solving crimes. Its goal is to help in the fight against crime, but it is not part of the local police departments or sheriff's offices. Each County has a law enforcement coordinator who participates as an advisor to the board but is a non-voting member. The citizen's board is responsible for operations of the program, fund raising, public relations, and approval of rewards.
