As events continue to unfold regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), literally by the minute, here's the latest local information as of early Wednesday evening.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is reporting the first COVID-19 associated deaths. More information at this link.

The latest confirmed COVID-19 cases in North Carolina was 504, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services at 11:20 am. The completed test in the state was 10,489.

Information from the John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center reports the number of confirmed cases for North Carolina at 577 as of 5:51 pm. The United States total was 62,873 with 894 deaths – 192 of those in New York, also as of 5:51 pm.
