A car fire resulted in a part of highway 421 being closed for a short time on Sunday morning. Deep Gap Fire Department were dispatched around 10:40am to the southbound area of 421 and old 421, near the traffic light, for the fire. As of Sunday afternoon no details as to the cause of the fire were known.
