On Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 7:23 pm, Boone Police and Boone Fire personnel responded to Deerfield Road and the intersection of Blairmont Drive for a hit and run crash involving a pedestrian. Forty-eight-year-old Terry Turbyfill was located with life threatening injuries. Mr. Turbyfill was transported to the Watauga Medical Center where, after lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased.
Investigative efforts revealed additional information, which expanded the period of time for potential witness observation of circumstances surrounding this incident. Any persons in the area of Deerfield Road and Blairmont Drive, after 4 PM on September 28, 2024, but especially between the hours of 6:45 PM and 7:30 PM, are strongly encouraged make contact with our investigative team.
