Boone Police Response To Multiple Robberies on Thursday Aug 8,2013

Boone Police responded to reports of multiple items stolen from several stores in the Boone Mall Thursday afternoon. At least one suspect fled the scene but was caught per scanner information.

On Thursday night reports of a armed robbery occurred at a business on 321/Blowing Rock Road. According to a tweet from Boone Police at 9:25pm “Armed robbery area of 321S, 2 suspects, dressed in blk. Left on foot towards shops on shadowline. If observed do not approach call 911”

Per Boone PD – “On August 8th, 2013, at about 9:00 p.m. a person wearing a mask entered the Cracker Barrel Restaurant, located at 1601 Blowing Rock Road in Boone and robbed the cashiers at gun point. The cashiers complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect ran out of the store and was last seen running in the direction of the Harris Teeter Store. No one was hurt during the incident.

Boone Police, assisted by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene and searched the area without success. Detectives from the Boone Police Department responded to investigate. This investigation is on-going. We will release more information as it becomes available.”
