The Boone DMV office was recognized on Wednesday (May 1, 2013) for achieving the highest donor designation rate for its district and for the entire state of North Carolina in 2012.

According to Donate Life North Carolina facebook page, this is the third consecutive year Boone has taken the top honors. Senior Examiner Craig Lyons credits the surrounding community for being so supportive and the efforts of volunteers like Judi and Carlton Bryant for providing education and resources to help individuals make informed decisions.

Donate Life North Carolina is a collaborative group of organizations that promote eye, organ and tissue donation, according to their website. Working together, the member organizations are directly involved in supporting donor families and facilitating organ, eye and tissue transplants across the state. Their work includes school education, Division of Motor Vehicles outreach and donor registry supervision.
