The Blowing Rock Police Department is warning of the latest phone scam.
“Please be advised that we have already received multiple phone calls from individuals stating they received calls from Sgt. Harkey and Lt. Dan White. This is a SCAM.”, the department stated in a social media post.
During the phone conversations the individual states that they are an Officer and that the individuals have a failure to appear and will be arrested if they do not pay or send money immediately.
NO LAW ENFORCEMENT agency will contact you to pay or demand money!!
