UPDATE 5:10pm Wednesday June 20, 2018 – According to an incoming social media report from a resident that lives in the area, a sign near the project now says the closure will begin on Monday June 25. WataugaOnline.com has reached out to NCDOT for more information and will update as it is available.
Bairds Creek Road on the 105 side will be closed starting Monday, June 18, for bridge replacement. The replacement of bridge number 93 is scheduled to last through October 31, according to NCDOT.
The detour will be beginning at Bairds Creek Road/Laurel Fork Road to NC105 North towards Boone to the NC 105 Bypass to White Oak Flat Road to Laurel Fork Road to Bairds Creek Road/Laurel Fork Road. Expected Impact to traffic is Medium, according to NCDOT.
