4pm via an email that came in from Paul Higgins:

“I just drove from Coffey Gap (221S) through Blowing Rock to Boone along 321.
321 is fine – bit wet in places.  221S from Blowing Rock to Coffye Gap/Linville is slippy in places – there was a crash where an SUV had slid into the 55mph sign on the outskirts of BR.  After Westglow you need to be careful but passible…”

5:49pm via email from Abby Ward:

“Poplar Grove road may look like it is safe to drive but I high suggest taking main roads if trying to access Appalachian's campus. While driving today  around 25 mph my car lost control and I went off the road. No one was injured but it could have easily resulted in a serious car accident, especially with ditches/streams so close to the road.

Remember that just because it looks "wet" doesn't mean it is safe to drive! Take caution!”
