Per Watauga County Communications – “Deputies may be altering traffic on Brown Hill US Hwy 421 N.”
8:27pm – Traffic on 421 in Zionville being diverted either onto old 421 or Silverstone Road per police scanner information. Traffic also being detoured onto Mabel School Road coming in from the Tennessee side.
8:57pm – Per Watauga County Communications twitter feed “Deputies dealing with standoff situation on 421 N. Traffic should use Silverstone and Old 421 as alt.”
UPDATED 9:30pm – 421 is back open to all traffic.
