Winter Weather Expected For First Full Week Of December 2018

Last Updated on December 3, 2018 1:34 pm

Update 3:56pm Tuesday – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 8pm tonight until noon Wednesday. For more information visit this link.

Much colder temperatures and winter weather will be the main weather story for this week.

To begin with,  a slight chance of snow showers will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Gusty winds, which will begin on Monday afternoon, will linger through Wednesday. Gusts up to 30 mph are possible Monday night and Wednesday and up to 25 mph for Tuesday.  Wind chill values in the single digits are forecast for Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Thursday rebounds, from forecast high temperatures in the 20s for Tuesday and Wednesday, to the 30s but currently no mention of precipitation.

Round number two of winter weather is forecast to begin Friday night after midnight. The National Weather Service says that weather models continue to show a low pressure system developing to the
southwest, along the gulf coast, late in the week. It's too soon to know currently the impacts this could have for the Appalachians if the system forms, however snow is forecast for Friday night through Sunday at this time.
