…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
10 AM EST FRIDAY…

* WHAT…Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 
1 to 2 inches, mainly at the higher elevations. Ice 
accumulations generally less than one tenth of an inch. 

* WHERE…The mountains of North Carolina, up through the Grayson
Highlands and along the southern Blue Ridge, into portions of
the New River, Roanoke, Rover, and Shenandoah valleys.

* WHEN…From 1 PM this afternoon to 10 AM EST Friday. The
precipitation is expected to begin as snow during the afternoon
then mix with or change to sleet and freezing rain this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
