Windy Conditions Forecast To Continue As Colder Air Moves In, Snow Likely

Last Updated on March 1, 2016 10:38 am

It may not have felt like winter on Sunday and Monday as high temperatures reached 60 and 57 degrees, but this week will be a reminder that winter is not over.

Gusting winds, much like Monday when peak gust reached 55 mph in Boone, will return to the area and has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory until noon Wednesday. 20 to 25 mph gusts are likely with some locations again reaching the 50-55 mph range. Snow flurries or snow showers will be possible on Wednesday with accumulations confined to the highest elevations the Weather Service says. Snow is likely Thursday afternoon and especially Thursday night resulting in possible accumulations. For more on the impacts see the NWS video update below.
