…HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM
EST SATURDAY…

* WHAT…For the High Wind Warning, west winds 20 to 30 mph with
gusts up to 60 mph expected. For the Wind Advisory, southeast
winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE…In North Carolina, Ashe, Alleghany NC and Watauga
Counties. In Virginia, Grayson County. In West Virginia,
Western Greenbrier County.

* WHEN…For the High Wind Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 10
AM EST Saturday. For the Wind Advisory, from 7 AM this morning
to 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Power
outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for
high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Higher elevation locations will experience
slightly higher gusts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
