Watauga County Schools have announced they will will extend the school day by 15 minutes on Monday Aug. 21 to allow for parents and students to view the upcoming solar eclipse.
According to the school system's Twitter feed and website, K-8 Schools will dismiss at 2:45 p.m. Parents are invited to join students at each school to view the eclipse. If you’d like to bring your own viewing glasses, please do so. Some glasses will also be provided at each school.

Watauga High School will dismiss at the regular time.
