BOONE, NC – The Watauga County Economic Development Commission will hold its next meeting Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 1pm-2:30pm at the Old Cove Creek High School, 207 Dale Adams Road in Sugar Grove. The meeting is open to the public.
This stands as the seventh meeting for the newly appointed Watauga EDC, and the first to be held in an unincorporated area of Watauga County.
The meeting will begin with a welcome and review of Watauga County’s economic development priorities from Board of Commissioners Chairman and Watauga EDC member Larry Turnbow. As part of the commission’s agenda, the group will hear a presentation from Bob and Gray Shipley of Shipley Farms Signature Beef. They will provide a recap of the recent Good Fields Appalachian Food & Farms Festival while also discussing other agriculture topics.
