Watauga County Cooperative Extension hosting Hay Days

Last Updated on October 15, 2024 7:03 pm

In an effort to prepare producers for winter feeding in an organized manner, Watauga County Cooperative Extension will be hosting Hay Days on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm – 6pm at 5715 US Hwy 421 N Boone, NC beginning on Thursday, October 17th free of charge.

Reservations for hay must be placed 48 hours in advance to ensure sufficient inventory. Each farm/producer will be limited to a maximum of 15 round bales/large square bales and 50 standard size square bales each distribution day.

Hay will no longer be available for pickup outside of these hours and will not be available for pickup on Hay Days without an order.

Reservations can be placed by calling Watauga County Extension's Hay Hotline at 828-319-2543. Please leave a message if your call is not answered and someone will reach out to confirm your order

We plan to continue Hay Days as necessary with the intention of producers receiving enough to build sufficient inventory for winter.

Thank you for your continued support. Our intentions remain for our farmers to not just squeeze by, but be ok through recovery from Helene
