Ashe County Sheriff B. Phil Howell announces the arrest of 58-year-old Robert Gray Eggers of Vilas, NC.
Detectives with the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office had been working alongside the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office in attempt to locate Eggers. He has been wanted for Indecent Liberties with a Child charges in Watauga County since 2015.
On Thursday, February 24, 2022 Ashe County Sheriff's Office Deputies Lee Johnson & Brandon Wingler were able to locate, identify and apprehend the male subject after he attempted to flee once again. Further investigation is ongoing and additional charges may come at a later date.
Eggers charges include:
One count of Indecent Liberties with a Child
Eggers is currently held at the Watauga County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
