A tractor trailer accident on 421 south, Tuesday afternoon, left the driver critically injured and closed portions of the road for a time. The accident, which lead to the closing of the northbound lanes of 421 for a time, occurred when the truck and trailer lost control traveling southbound, went left into the median and overturned, according to the Wilkes Journal-Patriot.
The Glade Spring, Virginia driver's name has not been released by officials as of Tuesday evening. The 2004 Peterbilt truck and trailer, carrying sawdust, was destroyed the paper reports. Deep Gap Fire was dispatched to help with traffic control, Watauga Rescue was dispatch to help with extrication.
