6:17pm – getting the first report via twitter (@wataugaroads) of very fine snow falling around Boone.
6:45pm – getting reports of snow in Blackberry, sleet in Bethel and snow at the bottom of Wilkes Mountain.

7:15pm – wet snow (big flakes) falling across all of Watauga. Not enough to impact roads yet, but it is expected to as the night progresses.
7:33pm per Boone Police – “We've called the street dept in. Per officers, roads are starting to get slick. Use caution if you're out traveling tonight”
Snow/sleet covered roads are expected through the overnight. If travel is necessary caution is advised. Updated conditions for Friday morning will be posted in the 5am hour.
