This is a list of some of the local closings during the week of Thanksgiving 2023. This list will be updated as needed.
Watauga County Schools closed for students on Wednesday (Nov. 22), it is an Optional workday for staff. Closed for everyone on Thursday & Friday.
Appalachian State has no classes for students or faculty on Wednesday (Nov. 22). Closed for everyone on Thursday & Friday.
Town of Boone offices are closed on Thursday & Friday.
Watauga County offices are closed on Thursday & Friday.
Watauga County Sanitation Department – container sites, landfill & office closed Thanksgiving, all reopen Friday, November 24th.
North Carolina government offices & NCDMV closed on Thursday & Friday.
United States Postal Service delivery will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, they will resume on Friday.
Banks are closed on all federal holidays.
