Motorists traveling on Howard and Depot Streets, in downtown Boone, are advised of changes in that area after new stop signs were added earlier in the week.
Previously, before the westbound lane of Howard Street became one way six years ago this weekend, only traffic traveling on Howard Street had to stop at the intersection. After the change, only eastbound traffic had to stop.
Now additional stop signs have been added on Depot Street in both directions. The changes at the intersection, and recent paving, are all to coincide with the upcoming Howard Street improvement project.
