…A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern
McDowell, east central Mitchell, Caldwell, southern Avery and
northwestern Burke Counties through 315 PM EDT…
At 227 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13
miles west of Lenoir, or 8 miles north of Table Rock, moving
southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Lenoir, Morganton, Spruce Pine, Gamewell, Cajah`s Mountain, Drexel,
Cedar Rock, Crossnore, Linville Falls and B.R. Parkway-Linville Falls
