…A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northwestern Avery
County through 615 PM EDT…

At 543 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 4
miles north of Beech Mountain, or near Peoria, moving northeast at 30
mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Banner Elk, Elk Park, Beech Mountain In Avery County, Sugar Mountain,
Seven Devils and Minneapolis.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for western North
Carolina.
