…A heavy tropical rain shower will move into southern Wilkes
county during the next 30 minutes. This cell has exhibited some
rotation and could intensify requiring a tornado warning soon.

At 1241 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
near Love Valley, or 8 miles southeast of Wilkesboro, moving
northwest at 25 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and
minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid
hydroplaning.
