Rain & Colder Conditions For Rest Of Weekend, Snow Likely To Start Next Week

It will be a rainy post-Thanksgiving Day weekend for the High Country. Rain began falling through the overnight and will continue today and tonight at a 100% chance and only dropping to 90% for Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Temperatures will not be cold enough to produce winter weather for the first part of the weekend. Today's forecast highs are in the upper 40s, with mid-40s as projected lows tonight. Winds will noticeably pick up tonight, with gusts up to 30 mph. South to southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph are forecast for tonight and Sunday. Wind gusts increase on Sunday, possibly as high as 40 mph, and forecast highs in the 50s.

Sunday night is when conditions will turn more winter-like. Rain is expected to turn into snow showers as lows drop into the 20s. At this time little to no accumulation is expected, according to NWS. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected.

Snow showers are likely for Monday and still continued wind gusts up to 50 mph. Forecast highs in the mid 30s.

No mention of precipitation for Tuesday through Friday. Highs in the 30s Tuesday then 40s the rest of the week. Lows in the 20s.
