Flair has deep connections to the High Country. Besides performing at various venues locally during his career, his daughter Ashley (now known as Charlotte Flair in the WWE) was a member of the Appalachian State volleyball team in the early 2000's.
Flair has been commissioned at least three times to be a part of the Appalachian State football team introductions.
