An issue at the Blue Ridge Energy substation on Hwy 194 resulted in over 4,500 Blue Ridge Energy members without power for a time on Friday night. The outages began shortly before 8 pm and power was fully restored around 9:25 pm, according to social media post by Blue Ridge Energy.
Watauga County Emergency Management posted on their Facebook page that there was a fire at the substation.
