…SLOW MOVING SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL PRODUCE TORRENTIAL RAINS…

Showers and thunderstorms moving out of Tennessee and developing
over the High Country of North Carolina, will be moving slowly
across the area late this morning. Torrential downpours, with
rates of 1 to 3 inches an hour can be expected with the stronger
storms. This will create ponding of water on roads. Those
traveling across the mountains should be prepared for slow traffic
and downpours. Use extra caution to avoid hydroplaning.

If outdoors, seek shelter inside as cloud to ground lightning
strikes are expected to increase. If you hear thunder, you are
close enough to be struck by lightning.
