This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest North Carolina,
southwest Virginia, west central Virginia and southeast West
Virginia.

.DAY ONE…Today and tonight.

There is a “slight” risk (level 2 of 5) for severe thunderstorms
this afternoon and tonight. The main hazard today with any
thunderstorms would be damaging winds gusts and large hail. Locally
heavy rainfall is also possible with the stronger thunderstorms which
could result in localized flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.

There is a “marginal” risk (level 1 of 5) for severe thunderstorms
Monday. Again, the main hazard with any thunderstorms Monday would be
large hail and damaging wind gusts. Locally heavy rainfall will also
be possible once again with the stronger thunderstorms, which could
result in localized flooding.

Spotter activation is possible today, tonight, and Monday. Please
provide any reports of severe thunderstorms and flooding to the
National Weather Service through one of the following means; by
calling 1-866-215-4324, through our social media platforms, by email
at rnk.skywarn@noaa.gov, or online through our “submit a storm
report” located at www.weather.gov/blacksburg.
