Last Updated on February 28, 2018 10:20 am

It appears March will come in like a lion, as February ends after a roller coaster of temperatures.

Weather folklore states that if March comes in like a lion it will leave like a lamb. No matter if you believe that sentiment or not, March will come in with cooler temperatures and rain/snow.

Isolated severe thunderstorms containing localized damaging winds will be possible Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The main story will be the winds, with strong northwest wind gusts to 55 or 60 mph, maybe even reaching 70 mph in some locations, Thursday night into Friday. Snow showers are possible after midnight Thursday night and into Friday morning. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.

Wind Chill values in the single digits on Friday night and Saturday.

Highs on Thursday in the upper 50s, dropping to the mid 30s for Friday, 40s for Saturday and 50s for Sunday.

A High Wind Watch has been issued from Thursday evening through Saturday morning.
